I mean, we've done everything we could. For the holidays, we stopped shopping. We don't drive. We turn off Zoom. That's what she wanted, right? Does she have compassion for us? We dive deeper and deeper into a smaller and smaller number of people. We are in the last room with this forced embrace of loved ones. We are here in a great city that doesn't make a sound. We wait. A bright yellow dirigible floats by in the window. It pulls a big sign: "CHANGEALUJAH! Love, COVID" ----
